Trapper John has done work for customers ranging from an elderly couple who had armadillos tearing up their garden, large corporations like Retention Pond Services, Inc. for Wal-Mart, and the New Orleans International Airport, to assisting government agencies like New Orleans' City Park. Satisfied customers are Trapper John's aim and he's willing to do what is necessary.
Trapper John has been trapping wild hogs in New Orleans East, Wildlife Refuge and the Orleans Levee Systems, for over forty years and has removed over 2,000 feral hogs which were causing major damage to the flood control system levees alone: many under permit from the U.S Fish and Wildlife Services. Trapper John has eradicated over 5,000 wild hogs with a 100% success rate in wild hog mitigation and abatement..
On occasion the wrong animal is caught in a trap. In such cases with nonlethal traps it is simply let free and the trap reset. What we consider a nuisance animal or pest in the Greater New Orleans area is sometimes an animal that lost its habitat to a new development and has no where else to go. Trapper John understands this and relocates the animal into an area where it is no longer at risk from people.
What must be understood in our area is it is impossible to be rid of wildlife completely or forever; especially in areas bordering marsh or lakes. Nutria, squirrels, birds, or any number of other animals will return to an area. It is important to look at constant maintenance moreso than just ridding an area once of unwanted wildlife and assume it will stay that way. The animals, for the most part, were here long before our houses and businesses. And the area will attract certain creatures depending on the terrain. Our swampy ponds and bayous will draw nutria while the coyote has adapted to urban life.
Trapper John has successfully trapped and removed a variety of birds and animals from homes, commercial buildings, businesses, and land. Alligators, Armadilloes, Bats, Beavers, Bobcats, Coyotes, Wild Boar, Foxes, Nutria, Otters, Pigeons, Snakes, Possum, Opossum, Raccoons, Skunks, Squirrels, Birds, Turtles, and Weasels to name some of the wildlife we share the New Orleans Louisiana area with.
